Kiski Area School District - Upper Elementary School

North Washington, PA – Massaro CM Services was hired by the Kiski Area School District to provide both preconstruction and construction management services for the district’s Upper Elementary project. This project included a complete renovation of the existing North Washington Elementary School and major additions to the building to convert the facility into a new Upper Elementary.

The 78,500 square foot addition consisted of a two-story academic wing as well as new athletic facilities. The academic wing includes 29 classrooms, media center, gifted and special education classrooms and faculty space. The facility also included a new full service kitchen, cafeteria with a performance platform, art room, and a competition-sized gym with locker facilities.

Renovations to the existing 19,000 square foot facility included upgrades to the building’s exterior and interior finishes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) system upgrades and extensive site work. The existing exterior finishes were replaced to match the finishes of the new addition. Similarly, interior finishes was replaced to maintain a consistent visual effect. All existing MEP systems were replaced. The new MEP systems included technology upgrades as well as new lighting fixtures. New bus lanes, event parking and expanded playground facilities were added to the existing site.
