Pittsburgh Public Schools - Science and Technology Academy at Frick

Pittsburgh, PA – Massaro CM was awarded a construction management contract from Pittsburgh Public Schools for renovations to their existing 43,574 square foot facility to house a new  6–12 science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) focused magnet school.  The Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy at Frick opened for the start of the 2009-2010 school year with 250 students in grades six through nine. Each year thereafter an additional grade will be added until the school reaches full capacity at 550 students in 2012-13.  The project included a complete interior renovation including 11 large and flexible, exploratory “lab” classrooms and the addition of a new elevator tower.
